Crispy Chicken Strips – Baked NOT Fried

Crispy chicken strips are a favourite with everyone in our house. It is a really simple recipe. It is much healthier than some of the alternatives and also saves you money, win win win!!

You can use these crispy chicken strips in so many ways. Wraps, burritos, burgers or simply on their own with a baked potato are how we tend to eat them at home.

They are much simpler than you think and totally customisable! Those who know me know that I love recipes like this. Sometimes with the kids and adults it’s hard to please everyone and produce a meal that suits everyone but this hits the mark and then some!

What makes these different?

Well, they are baked and not fried, you could also air fry them. This takes away all the excess fat so they are much better for your health. It also seriously reduces the calories so if you’re trying to lower your calories and still include what you love this may be for you!

Why should we limit fried foods?

Fried foods are often high in calories, unhealthy fats, and sodium, which can be harmful to your health when consumed in excess. Many fried foods are high in unhealthy trans fats and saturated fats. Consuming high amounts of these fats can increase your risk of heart disease, stroke, and other health problems. They are often also high in sodium, which can contribute to high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke.

Therefore it’s important to limit your intake of fried foods and instead focus on consuming a balanced diet that includes plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats.
